The company was born from founder Jen Ohlson’s powerful experience writing and directing her debut documentary, Health Needs a Hero, which chronicled the transformational journey of a student striving to overcome the challenges of childhood obesity. What began as a story about physical health quickly evolved into a deeper recognition of the mind-body connection – and the critical need for preventive, tech-enabled solutions in schools that link physical activity, emotional skill development, and measurable academic growth.
That vision led to the creation of IHT’s Spirit System – the first and only wrist-based heart rate monitor and assessment platform built specifically for K-12 students and social-emotional learning. Jen leads IHT’s strategic vision and partnerships with a deep commitment to impacting as many lives as possible by supporting the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of children and young adults. A former sportscaster, author, and filmmaker, she brings a storyteller’s heart and a purpose-driven mindset to IHT’s mission – building the most effective tools, resources, and support systems not only to empower kids, but also to equip the teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals who guide them.
Recognized for her strategic expertise and leadership, Elizabeth plays a pivotal role in creating cutting-edge operational tactics that enhance our service to our customers. A proud University of Texas alumna, Elizabeth is dedicated to continually improving our robust operational framework. Outside of work, she enjoys rowing, hiking, kayaking, and traveling in her RV.
Lisa manages the West, Southwest, and South regions for IHT. Coming from a family of dedicated educators, she started her career teaching Kindergarten. Lisa is committed to providing unwavering support to educators looking to enhance their programs with technology that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Outside of work, Lisa loves photography and adventuring with family and friends.
Amanda is a marketing expert with over 15 years of experience driving growth for a wide variety of businesses. She specializes in integrating digital marketing, SEO, content strategy and marketing automation to deliver measurable results. With a Journalism degree from San Diego State University, Amanda excels at crafting compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her dogs, playing with her niece, cooking, watching good movies and creative writing.
Ali manages all inbound leads for IHT. She has been working with schools to incorporate heart rate and assessment technology for more than 10 years. Ali earned her Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Illinois State University. An East Central Illinois native, Ali now lives with her family on Florida’s Space Coast. She enjoys staying active with her 3 kids, paddle boarding, fishing and going to the beach.
Bev works tirelessly to ensure we deliver superior service, training and continual support to our customers. Bev taught Physical Education for 26 years at the secondary level before moving into higher education at Buena Vista University. Bev served two years on the Governor’s Council on PE and Nutrition in Iowa before being named President of Iowa’s State Physical Education organization in 2015. She is an avid pickleball player and enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren Charlie and Jane.
An accomplished teacher, coach and educational leader in Kansas, Brandon was an IHT customer and advisor before joining IHT. He works closely with teachers, schools, and districts to maximize and expand their use of IHT. In 2014, Brandon was named the Kansas Middle School Teacher of the Year and 2015 SHAPE America Central District Middle School Teacher of the Year. In his free time, he shares time with his family and you can find him most weekends at a wedding or party, serving as a wedding officiant and professional DJ.
Aaron works directly with our Chief Operating Officer to further streamline our organizational functions, boost productivity, and bolster business growth. Beginning his career in the Real Estate Industry and having transitioned into a more operational role for the last 8 years, he understands that the continued success of an organization requires a high attention to detail, keen time-management skills, and the will to go above and beyond for the good of the client. A West Texas native, Aaron enjoys spending time with friends and family, vacationing and discovering new cultures and cuisine.
With 2 decades of experience in sales and coaching, Karin has developed a unique skill set that combines business acumen with a passion for mentoring and developing talent. She has successfully navigated multiple sales industries, driving revenue growth, building lasting client relationships, and consistently exceeding targets. Karin has also spent over 2 decades coaching and developing athletes, honing their ability to inspire, lead, and cultivate high-performing teams on the basketball court. She just completed her 5th year as the head coach at Windsor High School. Her teams have reached 3 straight Colorado championship games and made 2 “Elite 8” appearances. Karin recorded her 100th win in 2025. In her spare time, she loves being outdoors with her tripod pitty, Molli.
