August 14, 2019 – The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and National Fitness Foundation (NFF) announce a partnership with Interactive Health Technologies, LLC (IHT) making the IHT Spirit System® the official software platform to collect and report Presidential Youth Fitness Program (PYFP) assessments.
In March, the AAU and National Fitness Foundation (NFF) announced a historic partnership in which AAU, the largest, non-profit, volunteer, multi-sport event organization in the world, will take over the implementation of the PYFP testing. AAU will become the only organization in the country to manage in-school and out-of-school youth sports and fitness programs. AAU has selected IHT to collect and report PYFP data as part of their modernization of the PYFP program to benefit physical education classrooms across the nation.
“We’ve been offering the youth of America athletic opportunities since 1888,” said Dr. Roger J. Goudy, President/CEO of the Amateur Athletic Union. “AAU is proud to be partnering with the National Fitness Foundation to administer the PYFP and with IHT to provide comprehensive PYFP assessment software.”
Using the IHT Spirit System® assessment and data collection software, physical education teachers can capture and report on mandatory PYFP assessments.
“Since 1956, PYFP has been recognizing student athletic achievement in the physical education classroom, and IHT is excited to partner with AAU and NFF to revolutionize the way PYFP is administered,” said IHT CEO Ben Bentzin. “The IHT Spirit System® provides schools with simple, easy-to-use software for assessing and reporting student achievement in the physical fitness assessments of the Presidential Youth Fitness Program.”
