AKRON, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

Smithers Apex is pleased to announce that Wearable Technology UX will be held in the US in 2015, after a highly successful and inspirational event in London last year. Taking place October 1-2, 2015 in Seattle, Washington, Wearable Technology UX is the only user experience event exclusively dedicated to the relationship between humans and wearable technology. Going beyond the hardware, this year’s program will focus specifically on gaining inspiration and keeping the user in mind when creating the next generation of wearables.

In addition to eHarmony, adidas, Microsoft and Spotify, this year’s program will also feature presentations by Mad*Pow, MOOD, Artefact, The Crated, Empatica and Interactive Health Technologies. Planned sessions at Wearable Technology UX 2015 include why location matters with wearables; behavior change, wearables and individual empowerment; wearable design around wireless epidermal electronics; best practices involving voice interface; and a session on the benefits of regulating wearables, a current hot topic in the wearable industry.

“Building off the success of our 2015 Wearable Technology UX event held in London last year, we are thrilled to bring this year’s conference to Seattle, a city that is seeing a boom in wearable technology development. Our advisory board- including Stacey Burr- Vice President of Wearable Sports Electronics; Amy Jones Vaterlaus- Director Digital Experience Creation and Desney Tan Director, Medical Devices Group, Microsoft have been instrumental in bringing together the key players in the wearable technology industry, delivering a full agenda that will highlight human centered design while thinking about the user experience.” said Barbara Folwer, Conference Director for Smithers Apex.
