Students at East Elementary School in Littleton, Colorado, are wearing heart rate monitors to learn about their emotions and how to respond to them in healthy ways. NBC medical correspondent Dr. John Torres reports for Weekend TODAY.
The IHT ZONE wrist heart rate monitor shows students when their heart rate is elevated – indicated by color. If the color doesn’t match the student’s current activity level, the student employs calming strategies taught through a Social-Emotional Learning unit.
