Oct. 4, 2017 – After years of asking his students to sign a piece of paper asserting they made up missed classwork, Riverton (Wyoming) Middle School P.E. teacher Mike Bradley can use heart rate technology with a smartphone app for a better solution.

Bradley, who introduced the adidas Zone for IHT Spirit wrist heart rate monitors and IHT Spirit System to his program last year, is already taking advantage of the new IHT Spirit Mobile App to help students make up for lost time. Released on Sept. 19 as a free download from both the Apple and Google Play stores, the IHT Spirit Mobile App allows users to control their adidas Zone monitors from their phones.

The app enables Spirit System teachers to teach students beyond the classroom. Students often miss class for doctor’s appointments, and like a math or English teacher, Bradley believes the missed work should be made up. Read More

New IHT Spirit Mobile App Extends Adidas Zone Distance Learning Tools

Tuesday,  Sept. 19, 2017, IHT released its newest tool to further personalize physical education for every student: the IHT Spirit Mobile App.

The new mobile app, available as a free download through the Google Play and iOS App stores, enables users to take part in physical education classes and workouts connected to the IHT Spirit System® outside of the traditional school day and classroom. By controlling their adidas Zone for IHT Spirit wrist heart rate monitors on their mobile phones, students connect back to classroom workouts or track workouts they design themselves.  

IHT worked closely with adidas to develop a mobile app that takes the monitors beyond the classroom. A growing number of students fulfill their physical education requirement outside of the traditional classroom setting. More than 55 percent of U.S. school systems offer students the opportunity to take physical education as part of a virtual learning program. Read More
